Seioubo

Seiobo; Type: Uirō Sweet, Artist’s Note; Created together with my students as the March confection in our 12-month wagashi course, this peach-shaped sweet celebrates Hinamatsuri on March 3rd. Inspired by the legendary peaches of immortality associated with Seiobo, the Queen Mother of the West, it carries wishes for protection, longevity, and gentle growth. Soft, delicately steamed uirō encases a smooth yolk-infused white bean paste, its tender hues reflecting the quiet arrival of spring. Through this shared creation, I hope to express blessings for renewal and for young girls stepping into a bright new season. 西王母（せいおうぼ）: 種類：ういろう製、 制作の想い： 三月三日、雛祭りに寄せて。 本作は、12ヶ月の和菓子づくりコース三月の一菓として、生徒のみなさまと制作いたしました。 中国神話の西王母が司る不老長寿の桃にちなみ、桃の姿に仕立てています。 やわらかなういろう生地で黄身あんを包み、厄除けと長寿の願いを込めました。 春の訪れとともに、お嬢様方が健やかに、喜び多く育ちますようにという祈りを、この一菓に託しております。
