Edo Breeze

This piece expresses the essence of Japanese summer through traditional Nerikiri sweets. Created for a workshop at the Cleveland Museum of Art’s Community Art Center, the design is inspired by Ukiyo-e motifs—waves and uchiwa fans with fireworks. Join us to enjoy the fleeting beauty of Edo through delicate wagashi. 波と団扇　練り切り製　日本の夏の風物詩を、伝統の練り切りで表現した作品です。クリーブランド美術館のコミュニティアートセンターでのワークショップ向けに制作しました。浮世絵から着想を得た波と花火模様の団扇をテーマに、江戸の涼風を感じながら、儚く美しい和菓子作りを楽しんでいただけます。
